My Background...

One word my friends would use to describe me is ambitious. I am a lifelong swimmer, and being part of the sport has shaped who I am today, teaching me resilience, teamwork, time management, and grit—lessons that cannot be learned in a classroom. My love for communication and collaboration started in high school as captain of the Speech and Debate Club, where I learned to work closely with others and communicate persuasively. Since then, I’ve explored a variety of areas—including public relations, sales, marketing, social media strategy, and brand partnerships—gaining a deeper understanding of how each contributes to creating meaningful and impactful work.

After my freshman year at Cal Poly, I completed my first internship with Word & Brown General Agency within their marketing department, where I honed skills in graphic design, video editing, and competitive market analysis. I applied these insights to improve our own marketing strategies, gaining hands-on experience that laid the foundation for my passion in marketing and creative content development.

During my sophomore year, I interned with the Athletic Communications department and discovered that combining my swimming experience with digital media was a true passion. I experimented with creating authentic content that represented athletes’ stories, starting with the swim and dive team and later expanding to the track and field and women’s tennis teams. I gained Public Relations experience writing pre- and post-game articles for the women’s tennis team, assisted in recruiting 15 athletes through targeted social media strategies, strengthened my skills in journalism and content creation, and became proficient in CapCut for video editing. My work led to viral content, including one video that reached over 95K interactions and another that was shared by NCAA Track & Field.

But I didn’t stop there—at the beginning of my junior year I discovered a love for sales and leadership as Campus Manager for Fresh Prints. I managed the campus custom apparel business - working with student organizations such as the Cal Poly Women in Business Club and the university Triathlon Club, as well as AXO, AOII and ZBT to market and sell apparel that reflected their unique identities. I oversaw sales operations, built strong client relationships, and developed strategies to help grow business opportunities and sales.

After networking my way into an internship with SLAM Media Inc. in New York City leading up to my senior year, I took a leap of faith and moved across the country just two weeks later for what would become one of the most memorable experiences of my life. At SLAM, I worked in the Brand Partnerships department and contributed to campaigns through research, data analysis, creating marketing decks, pitch materials, and campaign recaps. I supported pre-event logistics, managed branded apparel inventory, and assisted with on-site coordination for major events—including the NBA Draft Suite and SLAM Summer Classic. I also had the incredible opportunity to sit in on meetings with companies like Meta, Oakley, McDonald’s, MadeHoops, and Spalding, gaining firsthand insight into sponsorship strategy and content execution across social platforms.

Living in New York City taught me to embrace the energy of a place where everyone on the street has purpose and ambition, and where opportunities are as big as the city itself—a lesson that continues to shape my drive and outlook today.

I’m most energized by opportunities at the intersection of sports, culture, and storytelling. As a lifelong athlete, I’m especially motivated to represent and stand alongside female athletes, helping them share their voices and stories beyond the game. I’m excited to continue pushing myself, stepping out of my comfort zone and applying my skills and creativity after graduating in the spring of 2026. In my free time, you can usually find me spending time with friends, visiting the best local restaurants, attending a comedy show, taking a walk, or listening to a podcast.
